Why did you join Nextdoor?
I joined for the people! I have been fortunate to have amazing teammates, mentors, and managers over my 5+ years at Nextdoor, and have felt supported and encouraged all along the way. I’ve had the opportunity to build out a team that I am SO proud of, and that I love working with every day.
What’s been one of your favorite projects to work on?
One of my favorite projects recently has been working with a few members of my team on a weighted interaction score for the various ways that members can interact with the content in their feeds. We used a panel regression methodology to predict the likelihood that the member would be active in the next time period, and ended up with some fascinating (and surprisingly intuitive) results. I’m excited to keep working on this — there are so many applications, both in the product itself and from an analytics & strategy perspective.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? (Pre-COVID & During COVID)?
I love to get outside however I can — running, hiking, backpacking, skiing, any sort of adventure! Since we moved to working from home, I have taken my love of the outdoors inside and adopted many thriving houseplants (and my team will tell you that I talk about them a LOT).
