Why did you join Nextdoor?
This company wears its heart on its sleeve. That level of honest and humility was incredibly attractive to me. I need to work in an environment where we recognize and value people.
What’s been one of your favorite projects to work on?
My favorite project to date has been planning for the upcoming year. It might be daunting to some, but thinking about the road ahead and the endless possibilities gets me hyped. I’ve enjoyed building strategies to support our purpose to cultivate a kinder world, by starting within Nextdoor’s walls.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? (Pre-COVID & During COVID)?
Traveling is by far my favorite activity. There is nothing like stepping into another culture, being exposed to way of life that is different than your own, and truly opening yourself up to discovery.
Most memorable moment at Nextdoor?
Our listing day was, hands down, the most memorable. The energy was palpable and I couldn’t have been more proud.
Best career advice?
See your career more like a jungle gym and less like a ladder. Your growth opportunities are enormous and the journey is less predictable (in a good way!).
Favorite place in the world?
There’s a tiny island off the coast of Turkey called Bozcaada that has beaches and ruins like I’ve never seen anywhere else. It’s a peaceful small town filled with friendly locals and delicious fresh food.
What is your favorite way to give back to your local community?
I’m a new mom and there’s no better way for me to give back than to support other mothers in my neighborhood. I donate constantly and support our local nonprofits that help young families, because I know what it feels like to be without.
