Why did you join Nextdoor?
The idea of a platform that was built online, but focused on connecting online and offline, fueling in real life actions, got me excited. There are great opportunities for people and brands alike.
What has been one of your favorite projects to work on?
One of my favorite projects was launching Nextdoor CREATE, a Creative Strategy and Sales Marketing team all under one umbrella, has been a great experience and team to build. Work coming out of the team like a Vaccine Map sponsored by Albertsons, to help neighbors find nearby vaccines, or Neighborhood Clean Up Events, in partnership with H&R Block, are the types of campaigns that make me proud.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I’m forever curious and always exploring. Travel, whether near or far, and exploring new places always fuels me.
Most memorable moment at Nextdoor?
There have been so many! In the past five and a half years, there have been a handful of moments looking around and realizing how much we’ve grown and how far we’ve come that hit me hard every so often.
Best career advice?
When starting out, just say yes. Join a meeting even if it’s outside of your remit, or if asked to join a brainstorm – do it. You never know where it could take you! As you progress in your career, trust yourself and make decisions. The best decision is the right decision, the next best is the wrong decision, and the worst is no decision.
Where is your favorite place in the world?
No matter where I’ve been, I always smile at the ‘Welcome to New York’ sign when I land back home in NYC.
What is your favorite way to give back to your local community?
Volunteering and donating to smaller organizations in or around my neighborhood always feels like you can feel the immediate impact of giving back.
