Why did you join Nextdoor?
My reason for joining Nextdoor is my belief in the importance of fostering connections and promoting love and peace among people in communities. Nextdoor serves as a platform that enables this to occur.
What has been one of your favorite projects to work on?
One of my favorite projects is working on the infrastructure and technical aspects of the Discover map. We believe that communities should not be limited to just those within a 10-mile radius of your residence. This particular product facilitates users to connect and engage with other neighborhoods, regardless of whether they are near or far away.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Going on a weekend hike with my family is a great way to enjoy fresh air amidst nature, and capture beautiful pictures of birds and trees. Additionally, hiking provides me with the opportunity to connect and engage with people in my community.
Most memorable moment at Nextdoor?
I joined the team remotely back in 2021 and my most memorable experience at Nextdoor was finally having the chance to meet my teammates in person a year later!
Best career advice?
The best career advice I can offer is to pursue work that you are passionate about and that aligns with your values and strengths. It’s important to identify your interests and skills early on, and then seek out opportunities that allow you to develop and apply them. Additionally, be open to learning and seek out feedback from others. Finally, don’t be afraid to take risks and try new things, as this can lead to personal and professional growth.
Where is your favorite place in the world?
Winneba, located in Ghana, holds a special place in my heart as my favorite destination due to its refreshing cool breeze, vibrant Ghanaian culture, and lively festivals.
