Meet Nextdoor’s Q2 2024 Values Award Winners

Written by #TeamNextdoor

At Nextdoor, we proudly uphold a twice-yearly tradition of recognizing individuals who embody our core values through Nextdoor’s Values Awards. This esteemed occasion is now a cornerstone of our company culture, reflecting the values we cherish and our ongoing commitment to fostering a kinder world with reliable neighborhoods.

We celebrate each award recipient’s achievements by sending personalized postcards, featuring nominations from their peers. The excitement culminates during our All Hands announcement, a company-wide event that amplifies unity and celebrates these contributions. Team leaders highlight the exceptional work of each Values Award winner, acknowledging how they exemplify our core values while colleagues join in extending their heartfelt congratulations.

The Values Award ceremony is a powerful testament to the remarkable efforts of our team. Past and present winners have their names proudly displayed on our Values Award wall at Nextdoor HQ in San Francisco — an enduring reminder of this cherished tradition.

Let’s get to know our winners for Q2 2024!

Earn Trust Everyday

Winner: Mark Jaskolski

“Mark is one of the quickest replies at Nextdoor. He almost always knows the answer to what’s asked, and if he doesn’t, you know you can count on him to figure it out quickly. Mark also stepped up to help fill a temporary gap on the growth side and did a stellar job owning his piece of the product. He continues to impress and his partnership isn’t taken for granted. I’m excited to continue working with him!”

Customer Obsessed

Winner: Baylor Wallace

“As we try to grow the agency development team and our impact on the revenue organization, detailed reporting is imperative to our success. Baylor delivers on our asks with thoughtful questions, quick turnarounds and a sunny disposition. He’s a joy to work with.”

Invest in Community

Winner: Nikita Cheron-Mizel

“Nikita lives Nextdoor’s value of “invest in community” every day by creating welcoming, safe spaces for employees, championing transparent, open conversations, and modeling what it means to be a good neighbor. Nikita is thoughtful and intentional in ensuring all Nextdoor employees are part of our community, for example, scheduling All Hands at different times so our global colleagues can be part of the experience. Additionally, Nikita seeks out opportunities to spotlight and celebrate people and teams across the company. I admire Nikita’s gift to be able to create a sense of community in the important work that she does.”

“Anyone who has had the opportunity to work with Kiernan during his 6 years at Nextdoor knows that he’s got an incredible knack for entrepreneurship within our ads business and possesses an incredible GPS and 8.4-litre V10 engine that allows him to create moonshot opportunities. To Kiernan, experimenting and learning quickly is deeply embedded in his DNA. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of winning the Experiment and Learn Quickly Values Award.”

Think Big

Winner: Tamsin Carroll

“Tamsin thought big and came up with the idea to sponsor our annual UK Good Neighbour awards campaign, which had never been done before. Not only did this campaign significantly drive revenue, the sponsorship led to increased neighbour engagement.”
